Introducing Darren

This is Darren.  Darren plays cricket at a very high level, currently playing for thge MCCU team at Leeds University, and also Minor Counties Cricket back home.  I have been coaching his strength and conditioning for the last few years.

We’re coming to the end of the first round of training which is some general conditioning work. These sessions are never fun. High volume low rest sessions. Plenty of supersets to keep the intensity up!  After this block the training will become more sports specific but for now it’s just hard work!

After a warm up Darren supersetted KB swings and reverse goblet lunges. 3 X 15 and 10 each leg respectively.

Big squats next. 80kg 5 x 10, with 60 seconds rest between sets.

Split squats and RDL. 4 X 8, 60 seconds rest again.

Chins and OH press. 3 X 10, 60 seconds rest.


Landmine rotations and a dish hold, 3 X 12 and 30 seconds.
